Airam font

Airam font blends modern legibility with traditional black letter forms, creating a contemporary text face to facilitate speaks to the Old European past. The term black letter refers to the way of typefaces that evolved out of 'Northern Europe's Medieval Manuscript' convention. Regularly called Gothic or Old English these scripts are recognized by the traces of wide nib pen stroke inside their forms. It designed in this style usually reveal an extreme thick thin stroke disparity. They inclined to be set a bit tapered, parting the look of a black tone across the page. The strokes of these alphabets also appear fairly 'broken' in nature (certainly the German term for black letter gebrochene Schriften exactly means wrecked letters). It positively appears darker than other modern text faces to fit the bill when set on a page. Its letterforms are minutely broken. They show inclined joints in lieu of soft curves. This 'broken' aspect really aids legibility in smaller point sizes. When it may not be suitable for setting whole newspapers or books. It add a superb touch to undersized tracts of small text. In 2002 Maria Martina Schmitt designed this font.
